The department offers education on topics such as identity, injuries, post-mortem modifications, pregnancy, delivery, abortion, infanticide, sexual jurisprudence, toxicology, and legislation pertaining to the medical profession. Bone identification, dactylography, age estimation, x-ray identification, toxicological specimen and toxin identification, and so on are examples of practicals. The Department assists in shaping the student into a humane, compassionate, and ethical medical professional who is passionate about learning and practicing medicine, knowledgeable about medicolegal responsibilities in the field, and able to make observations and draw conclusions logically in order to start investigating medicolegal issues.
